Topic: It Will Rain [9/10/2016]
Text: Hebrews 6:12
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12
He was almost giving up. He has been giving his best on every occasion to earn an admission into the university. This was his sixth attempt. Not that he was lazy, he wasn’t. But he just couldn’t place his fingers on what was happening. Why on earth has he be failing his entrance exam? This year, he decided not to even prepare. “I can’t keep wasting my time reading when I know I will eventually fail”, he said. But his mother told him – “don’t be slothful this time. Don’t give up on yourself. Have faith, with patience. Keep giving your best.”
Eventually, he decided to listen to his mother. In spite of the five years of drought, he made up his mind to give his best to his books. He told God he still believed in Him and was sure of success. After the exams, there was now the anxious wait for the admission list to be posted. Eventually it was posted, and to the glory of God, he was admitted to the university to study law. His joy knew no bounds. At last, his faith has pulled through.
Beloved, no matter the delay in your life, no matter the drought you are facing and you feel there is never going to be rain, don’t give up. Don’t resort to slothfulness. Don’t be fraudulent. Don’t stray away from the path of righteousness. Keep the faith, be patient, and you will eventually obtain the promise. It will rain, the drought will cease to exist. Don’t give up on yourself and God, even in the face of intense pressure. It will eventually rain.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, I won’t deny that my faith is not shakened, but I will keep trusting in You. I know You have my best interest in mind. Even in these dry times, I trust You to send rain, and I know it will rain, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
