It is good to pray in the language we can speak in and understand. Sometimes, we just want to make sure we are saying the right words to the Lord when we pray. And this is okay. But it is best to pray in tongues always. Apostle Paul said: “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all (1 Corinthians 4:19). He is telling the church that He prays more in tongues. This is because of the multiple effects of praying in tongues.
Praying in tongue is not a kind of prayer. There are different kinds of prayer, but praying in tongues is a medium – a language – and not a type of prayer. It is the language the celestial beings communicate with and no natural man understands it. On the cross, Jesus prayed to God in tongues “saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” (Mark 15:34). No wonder no one standing there could understand what He was saying.
Communicate with the Lord in tongues always. When you do that, there is always accuracy of words and there is also a synchronization with the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27). In that process also, you are building up yourself into a strong spiritual edifice that cannot be moved (Jude 1:20). Pray always in tongues with all kinds of prayers and supplication.
