The saying that nothing is actually free can only be understood by the wise. Indeed, nothing is free contrary to what many think, everything in this world comes with a price and if you can pay yourself get what you need. If you cannot pay, you can’t get it. Whatever comfort or luxury you are enjoying today, someone or your parents has paid for it. It seems free to you but the fact is that your parents has paid for it. For instance, when Solomon ascended the throne and wanted to build God’s Temple, he sent message to his father’s friend – Hiram. Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. 1 Kgs 5:3-4.

When our forefathers sold us out cheaply to the devil through sin, we were condemned to death. We were doomed for hell. We deserved to rot in hell. But God’s mercy and grace brought Jesus to the cross to paid the price for our atonement. Price we could never have been able to pay. Today, we preach that salvation is free, oh yes, free for the receiver but not for the one that died for it. Free gift is meet to be received not to be rejected. Yet, men still turn it down. Some even say, Jesus did not die for me and cannot die for me. Oh no, what a pain for those you care about to reject you before your face! Who can bear that?
