Topic: Hold Unto Your Conviction [Thursday, 8th Dec. 2016]

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering… Hebrews 10:23

Convictions are a necessity to us, as not only people of God, but people of impact. Convictions are firm beliefs that drive our lives. Convictions are similar to culture and traditions. They are the foundations on which a people build their lives. And once the conviction of a people is destroyed, they are left vulnerable to any belief system, even though it impacts on them negatively. For if the foundations – convictions – be destroyed what shall the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).

Our convictions are imbedded in the scriptures. We have a firm belief in the Lord, from Whom we draw our life. Christ is our life and in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). We also have a firm belief in excellence, because we are a people of excellent wisdom and the excellent Spirit of God is resident in us (Daniel 5:12,14). We know that excellence is the way to go at all times and we pursue it with every fiber of our being.

We also have a firm belief in love. We are a people of love. Born of love, schooled in love. We understand love because we have experienced love, and have come to know that love is the greatest of all virtues (1 Corinthians 13:13). Despite the endurance of evil, we are totally convinced of doing good. We are wired to do not only good works, but good deeds to people. For we know that good always overcomes evil (Romans 12:21). These are some of our convictions and we won’t abdicate this position.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for the convictions which You have given me. They are the foundations upon which I build a viable life, that creates impact in people. Help me to hold fast unto my convictions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
