Topic: Borne Out of Love [21/7/2016]
Text: Philippians 1:15-17

As custodians of the word and ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19), it is very pertinent we understand that we are into serious business. And one of the best ways to show our love for the master is to preach about Jesus’ saving grace to people, with gladness of heart. The gospel is a message of love, and it can only be effectual when it proceeds from the fountain of love in us.

Preaching about the salvation that Jesus Christ has brought to man is important but if it is not done out of love for and a deep sense of devotion to God it’s of no benefit to the preacher. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 is very clear about it that love must be the motivating factor in all we do. Don’t preach Christ out of fear. Don’t preach Christ because your pastor and your leaders asked you to. Don’t preach Christ because of a sense of competition. But preach Christ because you love God and the people you are preaching to.

Apostle Paul told the church in Philippine that he will rejoice and be glad if he be offered upon as sacrifice of their faith and services (Philippians 2:16). That was how much he loved them. Our preaching of the gospel must also be born out of love. Anything else apart from love is nothing. Let the love of God and passion for souls flood your heart. Let it be the driving force of the ministry of reconciliation God entrusted into your hands.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:
The love of God saturates my heart through the working of the Spirit. Birthing a passion and love for soul winning. This love drives my every move evangelically. Causing me to preach the gospel to the lost that will save them from the grip of Satan and hell, in Jesus name. Amen.
