Thought For The Day: To be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life.
It has been established from our anchor Scripture that praise is therapeutic and joy is medicinal. We need to be permanently joyful in order to fulfill the purpose of God for our lives. According to our anchor scripture, a merry heart is key to a cheerful life.
Now, why do we need to remain permanently joyful?
Joy destroys bondage: Joy brings people out of captivity. Excitement is your exit out of every negative condition of life. Paul and Silas were locked up in prison and they refused to be depressed. They were excited, they sang and praised God, then, the prison opened, and they came out (Acts 16:20-26).
Beloved, to be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life. You will be detained where the devil has kept you all these years if you agree to be depressed. The young girl who is depressed about not being married will remain in that condition until she changes her attitude. The young man who is depressed about not having a job will remain in that state until he changes his attitude. A change of attitude is a change of altitude.
Remember this: To be depressed is to be detained in the negative situations of life.
Assignments:
1. Create a consistent atmosphere of joy and excitement around your life.
2. Engage in the activities that bring joy, like praise and worship, prayer and the study of God’s Word.
Prayer: O LORD, help me to maintain an atmosphere of excitement. Destroy every form of depression in my life, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
