Topic: The Tragedy of an Offended Heart [January 6, 2017]

Scripture: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Acts 24:16.

Thought For The Day: If your conscience is always void of offence, you will always rejoice.

In Philippians 4:4, Paul the apostle admonishes us to be happy all the time. Even though he suffered persecution, he was always joyful. He never allowed the circumstance of his life to take control over him. The secret of his constant joy and praise to God is found in our anchor scripture of today; in order to live in joy always, he maintained an offence- free heart before God and towards men.

The truth is, if your conscience is always void of offence, you will always rejoice. When the devil wants to fight your joy, he sends people to offend you. Satan always wants to make God look as if He is your enemy by making you think that God does not love you. But if God does not love you, is it the devil that loves you?

John the Baptist, for instance, made a costly mistake in his life by being seemingly offended with Jesus (Luke 7:23). This gave an opportunity to Herod to cut off his head.

I prophesy that no devil will cut off your destiny, in Jesus’ Name!

Beloved, keep on pursuing God wholeheartedly; serve God with a heart void of offence.

Remember this: If your conscience is always void of offence, you will always rejoice.
