Topic: Addressing the Famine of Time [Friday, 31th March 2017]

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

We are familiar with the phenomena of scarcity of money, scarcity of food and other material things, but have not really appreciated the reality of famine or scarcity of time. There come moments in life that 24 hours seems too short. You are overwhelmed with so many things screaming, calling and competing for your attention all at the same time. People react differently. Some take to energy drinks, some take to other stimulants like coffee etc., some even resort to narcotics.

As a child of God, what Bible principle would you use to address the situation? Because money, food, as well as time, are all resources, the same principle of the episode of Prophet Elijah and the Shunamite woman shall apply (1 Kings 17:7-16). God’s timing was at work in bringing both of them together to meet the need of the woman. So at the time of famine (the famine of time inclusive) all natural attributes shall fail to deliver efficiently. You shall need a destiny helper, a God factor, God given idea to work smart and deliver on schedule.

When there is famine of time perhaps it is time to drop everything (at least for the time being) to minister unto the Lord in hymns, psalms, praises, worship, distribution of Tracts, evangelism, intercession for the Church etc. It is time to remember to put Matt 6:33, into action. Pastor E.A Adeboye was having issues with a mathematical problem when he was writing his PhD thesis, for quite a long period. One night, he suspended the work and began fellowship with the Lord – reading his Bible, meditating and praying. Suddenly, God spoke to him, telling him how to rearrange the equations and regroup them in a particular manner. In a couple of minutes, it was all done with. You can engage in this wise action when faced with timed challenges, and the possible response from heaven are:

1, Divine inspiration Acts 13:2.
2, Connection with destiny helper(s) ( like Elijah and the widow woman in our example)
3, Divine supplies – as in the case of Jesus feeding 5000+ with the little boy’s lunch.
4, Angelic assistance Luke 22:23

Keep winning daily.

Wise Action:

Generosity – spending time of quality fellowship in this  regards – towards God is applicable in all situations and circumstance of life. Prov 11:24-25.
