DCLM Daily Manna 3 February, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Our Dependable God

Topic: Our Dependable God [DCLM Daily Manna Saturday February 3rd, 2018]

Text: Joshua 10:12-27 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel” (Joshua 10:14)

MESSAGE:

Five kings entered into a league to destroy Gibeon. Adonizedek, king of Jerusalem, cried unto the kings of Amorites, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish and Eglon for help. The people of Gibeon got wind of the plot against the city and sent word to Joshua to come to their rescue. Gibeon was able to secure the assistance of Israel because it had earlier made peace with it. Joshua dispatched men of war to prevent Gibeon from being overrun by the five kings led by Adonizedek.

Israel conquered enemies of Gibeon so severely that the five kings not only took to their heels but also hid themselves in a cave. Two special miracles took place in this war: one, God fought on the side of His people. Two, nature took side with Israel until they won the battle. So, Gibeon was delivered from an evil conspiracy.

The Bible reference for reading shows what a believer is entitled to by simply making peace with God through genuine repentance and faith in Christ. Like Joshua, who commanded the sun to stand still and the moon to stay in order to give Israel more time to defeat their enemies, believers can ask God for redemption blessings that are seemingly impossible and He will grant unto them.

As a believer, you should be aware that there is an ongoing battle between right and wrong. And whatever battle you are currently fighting–economic, psychological, emotional, spiritual or academic – God is capable of giving you a resounding victory if you put your faith in Him. Joshua did not doubt the capability of God to grant his petition. If you will simply trust Him, you will defeat all the enemies of your life.

Thought For The Day: Fear not in the face of challenges but contend and win with God.

Bible Reading in a Year: Exodus 13 -15.

Flatimes’ Notice Board: Please do not prolong your salvation if you have not repented. Many are going home daily and tomorrow maybe too late.
