Open Heavens for Teens

Topic: Prompt Compliance [Teens’ Open Heavens Sunday 25th, February 2018]

Memorise: When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Ecclesiastes 5:4

Read: Ecclesiastes 5:4-6

4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

Bible In One Year: Numbers 14-15, Mark 6:1-32

MESSAGE:

During my early years as a believer, after hearing a sermon, I immediately practiced whatever that sermon was leading me to do. If after hearing God’s Word with conviction and you agreed to do it but failed to do it that day, you will observe that by the following day, your commitment to doing it would have reduced. And as each day passes without doing it, so goes your resolve.

Some of us know the right things to do to get our lives in the right order, we have heard it said to us many times, and we even make up our minds to take action. But because we didn’t take that action immediately, the commitment to do them faded with time. Stop delaying and postponing, you know what to do, do it now!

Action Point: Take stock of pending restitutions, repent and comply immediately.

Hymn 2:

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
