The Jews, before Jesus Christ came on the scene, were used to the modus opurandi of the Pharisees, the scribes, and other teachers of the law. They were used to hearing dogmas without practical display. They knew God could heal, raise the dead and restore, the scribes and the teachers of the law told them these things. They read about the exploits of Moses, Elijah and Elisha to them. But they had not experienced it in the way they did when Jesus came on the scene.

When Jesus healed the paralyzed man in Mark 2, the Jews, who were questioning his suitability to forgive sins, “were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion” (Mark 2:12).
