Topic: Just Be Yourself! [Sunday, October 8, 2017]
(Genesis 1:21-31).
Many years ago, Eileen Caddy correctly observed that: “what is right for one soul may not right for another. It may mean having to stand on your own and do things that are strange in the eyes of others. But do not be daunted. Do whatever it is, because you know within, that it is right for you.”
Great statement! I believe you know that you have the seed of greatness in you because you have JESUS IN YOU. One price great people pay sometimes is loneliness. So, when your opinions or your views are not popular or celebrated all the time, refuse to give up! There is something great about knowing that you are not like everyone else. Dare to stand on what you believe and dare to be different sometimes. Why must you copy another person’s life, family, business, or ministry?
There is something different and unique about you that your generation is waiting for. Today’s scripture is full of the phrases, “after their kind”, after his kind” (Vs 21, vs 24, vs 25). Also, note the phrase, “After Our Likeness” in Vs 26. That’s exactly God’s principle of creation. Desire to pursue God’s special plan for your life and ministry. Don’t struggle to be someone else. The Elephant does not need to envy the Lion, because its purpose is different and that makes every creation unique! So are you! Stand on your own and do things that you believe are right even if they are strange to others.
You are a miracle! God made you and was satisfied! Refuse to be common. Trying to be like someone else, is a curse! Follow your special star and be yourself! Was Isaac Newton not persecuted! Jeremiah was ignored! Awolowo was called names! Martin Luther was jailed! Jesus was Killed because, they dared to be themselves. Be yourself! You will be celebrated only in your purpose! Amen!
A PROPHETIC NOTE: There is someone God is telling to take certain steps. The person is afraid of other people’s people opinions but heaven is saying, “Move on.” Pray now!
