TOPIC: God Allowed It For A Reason (TREM Devotional 21 December 2024)
“… And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.” Genesis 45:4-5 (KJV)
Wisdom For The Day MESSAGE:
While Joseph was in prison, he found himself with a baker and a butler who were thrown into prison by Pharaoh. They both had dreams that needed interpretation. Joseph still interpreted their dreams despite his challenging situation. He didn’t stop interpreting dreams due to his bad experiences. He kept on trusting God, knowing that God had not abandoned him. He interpreted the dreams both for the butler and for the baker. The baker was hanged while the butler was restored, exactly as Joseph had told them.
The Chief Butler forgot Joseph, but God used that waiting period to deal with bitterness and revenge in the heart of Joseph. He was forgotten, but God did not forget him. I declare to you that Jehovah will never forget you. Even in that ugly situation, you are not forgotten. Things are turning around for you. Your story will end colourfully.
In Genesis 45, Joseph was eventually restored. Now, he had been built. He had gone through the process, from the pit into Potiphar’s house. And from prison, he was lifted by God into the palace. When he eventually met with his brothers who sold him into slavery, he was not mad at them again. His brothers thought they were doing him harm, but never knew that it was part of the process. They were now standing before the prime minister, their brother, whom they sold.
God healed Joseph of unforgiveness, anger, bitterness and revenge. And after he had been broken, he knew the purpose for which he went through what he went through. Joseph forgave all his brothers. He told them that what they meant for evil, God had turned it around for good.
Beloved, the enemy may have meant the things you are going through for evil, but God is turning them around. They will be part of your success story.
