TOPIC: The Pentecost

READ: Acts 2:1-4 (NKJV)

  1. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
  2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
  3. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and [one] sat upon each of them.
  4. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

THE MESSAGE:

The second great feast of the Jewish year was the Pentecost. The term Pentecost comes from the Greek word Pentekoste which simply means ‘fiftieth.’ It was a harvest festival, celebrated exactly seven weeks and one day after the first day of Passover. This great festival is called the feast of harvest and the day of first fruits. Pentecost is also called ‘Whitsun’ or ‘Whitsuntide’ in the Church calendar, and often referred to as the ‘Feast of Weeks.’. It was a harvest when the first fruits of the grain harvests were presented to God. In similar manner, Pentecost indicates the beginning of God’s harvest of souls in the world.
On the great day of Pentecost, the power of the Holy Spirit came down heavily on the disciples, resulting in salvation of a great number of souls.

Today, we need God’s mighty touch to bring about great manifestations and results that will lead to bountiful harvest of souls. As the Holy Spirit used the Apostles of old, who yielded themselves for Him, will you also be yielded to Him for infilling to be used for a great harvest into God’s Kingdom today.

PRAYER: O Lord, let there be a great visitation from heaven that will bring a mighty turnaround in my life and ministry in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
