TOPIC: Examine Yourself (Scroll down for RCCG House Fellowship 22 June 2025 Anthem)

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me to put things right for your use.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members of last week’s lesson on how to rekindle the Pentecostal fire.

MEMORY VERSE: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” – 2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV)

BIBLE TEXT: Romans 8:10-11 (KJV)

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: To examine yourself means assessing one’s own true state and character before God. It is standing before the divine mirror to see whether you are doing it right, is there any little sin you are condoning, are there things engaging that may truncate your access to God’s agenda? Examine yourself whether you are still in faith.

LESSON AIM: To learn the need for self-examination.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;

  • Know reasons for self-examination.
  • Know how to examine oneself. Text Review: Romans 8:10,11
  • Christ in you makes the body to become dead to sin.
  • The Spirit of God brings quickening of our immortal bodies.
  • Spirit is life because of righteousness.
