BIBLE READING: Genesis 1:1-5
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
MESSAGE:
The phrase ‘And God said’ is a powerful reminder of the creative authority and divine power of God’s spoken words. There is power in God’s word (Hebrews 4:12), and this is why a lot of things happen when God speaks. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth with His powerful word. Also, He told Abraham that He would make him the father of many nations – and He did. He made a promise to Hannah that she would have a son, and He gave her Samuel, who grew up to be one of God’s anointed.
When my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, handed over the mantle of leadership to me as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, I was afraid of how I would lead at such a young age. However, God spoke to me and said that He would lead His people by Himself, using me as a vessel. He has been faithful to His word all through the years.
My dear child, God has said that you will be the head and not the tail. This could mean that if you do your own part by studying, He will do His part by making you excel in your academics. However, you must give your life to Him if you haven’t done so yet. Accept Jesus into your life today so that God’s promises will come to pass in your life.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please fulfil Your word in my life.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
2 Kings 6:1-7:20, Acts 15:36-16:15
HYMN 53: ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
1 ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood.
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.
4 I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Daily Devotional for Teen’s guide was written by Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, one of the largest evangelical church in the world and also the President of Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries.
