BIBLE TEXT: Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: As believers, we need to know that we cannot escape being tempted by Satan especially in the area of our faith. Unlike unbelievers, Satan will fight to ensure that he causes believers to derail, hence the trial of believers’ faith, but in all these believers are more than conqueror.

LESSON AIM: To study about the tested faith.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;

  • Know that tested faith is faith that works.
  • Know the reason for the believer’s faith to be tested.

TEST REVIEW: Hebrew 6:12

  • Believers are not called to slothfulness. Spiritually dull and indifferent
  • They are to follow example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises
  • Faith is operational force that command into being God’s supernatural acts.

f) Joseph refused to fall into the adulterous act of Potiphar’s wife; he was later divinely repositioned for supernatural miracles. Genesis 39:7-14,41:39-43.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: WHY SHOULD BELIEVER’S FAITH BE TESTED?

2) To make room for promotion and divine empowerment. Daniel 6:3

3) To make proof of divine virtues. Genesis 41:12-13

6) To present platform to fulfil His promises. Hebrews 6:12-15

7) To proof to Satan believers’ trust in God. Job 13:15

SUMMARY: Believer’s faith will be tested, so we must be guided always.

CONCLUSION: For believers to end this journey at Jesus’ feet, faith in God is very important; without pain, that is the trial of faith, there is no gain. Everyone desiring His appearing should be prepared to be tested at any time by the accuser of brethren but at the point of tempting, God always make a way of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13
