TOPIC: The Eloquence Of Integrity (DCLM Daily Manna 10 September 2025)

KEY VERSE: “And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock” (Exodus 2:17).

TEXT: Exodus 2:15-25 (KJV)

15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

17 And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

20 And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

23 And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Character is like a smoke. It cannot be hidden. It is regarded as the greatest human currency, a person’s most valuable asset. Integrity, morals, and values are far more important than wealth, status or material possessions. The true content of a person’s life soon emerges whenever life challenges trigger his or her inherent virtue or vice. This was what happened in the case of Moses.

Moses’ virtue emerged early, portraying him as a man of integrity. Although he was mistaken for an Egyptian by the daughters of Reuel, his disposition revealed the content of his character. His spontaneous assistance to the damsels opened the door of favour to him. Reuel invited him to eat bread in his home. And over time, Reuel offered him Zipporah, his daughter, for a wife.

Kingdoms might rise and fall but whatever God has promised will not fail. We only need to maintain our integrity and manifest unwavering faith in Him. In His perfect timing, He would make all things beautiful for us. Many are the uses of adversity. One is that it helps to show a person’s mettle – whether good or bad. It was part of God’s inscrutable agenda to make Moses pass through the rough and tumble of life before the rough edges of his life were effectively chiselled off.

We must work at cultivating and developing good character. We need to yield ourselves to the moulding hands of God to shape and pour the oil of graceful living into us. If God makes a vessel of honour out of our lives, even the desert years of adversity will not alter or mar our progress. Rather, it will serve as a worthwhile process of melting, molding, and making us suitable for use by God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Character will either open or close doors against you!
