TOPIC: Cancerous Cell (1) (Scroll down for RCCG House Fellowship 28 September 2025 Anthem)
OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me to keep trusting you even if the situation is contrary.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members that challenges of life have an expiring date, but we need to trust God. Our Redeemer knows what to do about those issues.
MEMORY VERSE: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” – 2 Timothy 3:1 (KJV)
BIBLE TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Cancerous cell is a deadly cell that grows in the absence of signals telling them to grow. In our world today, a lot of cancerous cells are living with us-divisions, negative influence, ungirded freedom, social media, and neglect from parents in the area of their children’s welfare, all these are bane to societal values.
LESSON AIM: To make members know causes, effects and remedies to cancerous cells in our society.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;
- Know what a cancerous cell is
- Identify cancerous cells.
- We are in a cancerous time, a dangerous, difficult time.
- Boasting love of money and disobedience are pointers that last days are here.
- They will go to church but won’t believe what they hear
- They will betray their friends, hotheaded and pulled up with pride.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WHAT IS A CANCEROUS CELL?
a. It divides continually. Ananias and Sapphira nearly caused division in the early church.
b. It forms a tumour, flooding every part of the body with abnormality. Ten spies brought evil news, which led to the destruction of lives, tumour. Numbers 13:28, 31-33,14:1-28
c. It ignores the signal of stopping in cell division, thereby exposing the body to danger. Samson ignored warnings; he continued in pride and arrogance, which led to his demise.
d. It grows out of control, lacks the components that instruct them to stop cell division. Demas lost out, forsaking instructions from his leader, Paul and ended badly.
e. It causes genetic alteration. We are God’s heritage alteration in our genes, righteousness, holiness, and purity, as a result of cancerous invasion.
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: IDENTIFY CANCEROUS CELLS
- Lukewarmness in praying and fasting. Luke 18:1
- Evil association and communication. 1 Corinthians 15:33.
- Loss of appetite for the things of God.
- Malnutrition, being fed with heretical teachings.
- Quick consent to worldliness. 1 John 2:15.
- Divisions, environmental toxins.
- Negative influence and peer pressure.
SUMMARY: Cancerous cells shall not be allowed.
CONCLUSION: Cancer causes genetic alteration. We are God’s heritage alteration in our genes, righteousness, holiness, and purity as a result of cancerous invasion.
WEEKLY ACTIVITY: Can you discuss what the presence of Jonadab did to the destiny of Amnon in 2 Samuel 13 and what the presence of Mordecai did to the destiny of Queen Esther? Compare the two.
PRAYER POINTS.
- Father, please deal with every lukewarmness in my prayer life.
- Father, separate me from evil association and communication that can jeopardise my walk with you.
- Father, set me on fire, don’t let me lose appetite for things of God.
- Father, destroy everything that causes brethren to quickly consent to worldliness.
- Father, mutilate every hunger for negative influence and peer pressure amongst our youth in RCCG.
