TOPIC: It Is God’s Battle (TREM Devotional 4 October 2025)
“And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.” Joshua 6:4-5 (KJV)
MESSAGE:
Beloved, according to the account in Joshua 6, Jericho was tightly shut. No one went in, no one came out. Yet God said to Joshua, “See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.” (Joshua 6:2). What was impossible to man was already settled in God’s plan.
We see the same in Samaria. The famine was so desperate that people resorted to eating human flesh (2 Kings 6:28–29). But in the midst of hopelessness, God sent a word through Elisha: “Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” (2 Kings 7:1). And in just one day, God turned the economy of an entire nation around.
Beloved, the battle is not yours, it is the Lord’s. Often, we approach God as though He were limited like man. But He is not a man. He is God! What took years to build can crumble in a moment at His command. What looks impossible can change overnight because God has spoken. He did it for Israel at Jericho. He did it for Samaria in a day. And He will do it for you.
Hold fast to this truth: God does not change and cannot fail. The same God of yesterday is still God today and forevermore. Your turnaround is closer than you think, because the battle is the Lord’s!
