Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Beloved, you are welcome to the month of November. Indeed, God has been faithful in all ramifications throughout the past months. And in this month, God will give you a drastic and total turnaround that will make you shed tears of joy; people will look at you and wonder how it happened, in Jesus’ Name.

In our study today, we shall be looking at what we need to do to avoid the plague of prayerlessness. This is because as we approach the end of the year and the end of time, prayer is one of the tools we need for victory over the agenda of the enemy.

The Scripture makes it clear that prayerlessness will become a plague, especially at the end of the age. Luke 18:8b says, Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? The truth is, the devil has deployed many weapons to attack the prayer life of God’s people because he knows that his time is short. And Jesus has told us that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1). So, if we must always pray, it is important to know some of the weapons that the enemy uses to attack our prayer life, so we can avoid and resist them.

Now, what are the forces that the enemy employs to make people prayerless?

  1. Sinfulness. Sinfulness is the number one cause of prayerlessness. Sinfulness is an attack on prayerfulness. There are three basic things sin targets.

a. Sin attacks our love for God. Matthew 24:12 says, And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. So, the plague of sin kills man’s love for God and for fellow men.

b. Sin attacks confidence and boldness before God. Sin makes a person feel unqualified at the place of prayer. Proverbs 28:1 says The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Sin attacks your boldness at the place of prayer. That is why you will hardly hear a drunkard saying, “I did an all-night prayer last night”, except an all-night of alcoholism and drunkenness. You can hardly see a practicing prostitute saying, “I did seven hours of spiritual irrigation praying in tongue.” Why? because there is an attack on love for God, an attack on boldness before God.

c. Sin brings separation between man and God. Sin keeps a person far from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). So, even if you try to pray, it is like your prayer is hitting a brick wall and that can cause prayerlessness.

  1. Wordlessness (The lack of the Word of God). Where the Word of God is lacking in the heart of a man, it affects his prayer life. It is important to know that the Word of God is to prayer what wood is to fire (Proverbs 26:20, Leviticus 6:12, Micah 6:9).
    Please note the following:

a. The Word of God provides the premises of prayer through the promises of God. What God promised us is what gives us what to pray about (Hosea 14:2, John 15:7). So no Word, no effective prayer.

b. The Word of God is the fuel for faith. The Word of God fuels our faith, causing us to turn to God (Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6).

So, for us to be able to pray effectively, prayer must happen by the Word. If there is no Word, there is no faith, and if there is no faith, nothing will drive you to turn to God in prayer. There is no confidence that your prayer will be heard and answered by God.

Wordlessness equals prayerlessness. That is why it is important to charge up your Word level in order to charge up your prayer life.

Remember this: Sin makes a person feel unqualified at the place of prayer.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Avoid the life of sin. Say, ‘No’ to any invitation to sin; that is an attempt to cripple your prayer life.
  2. Give yourself to the consistent study of the Word.
  3. Pray even when you don’t feel like praying.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to pray fervently without ceasing. Baptize me with a dimension of hunger for You that cannot be conquered, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
