TOPIC: Free Drink For All

READ: Revelation 22:16-21 (NKJV)

  1. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
  2. And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
  3. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
  4. and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.
  5. He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
  6. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

In verse 16 of our passage today, Jesus says that it was He who sent His angel to give to John the message for the Churches. In reply, the Spirit and the Bride (Church) said, ‘come.’ Verse 17 gives an open invitation to any person who is thirsty and desires to drink, to drink freely from the water of life. Jesus is the one who gives the water of life freely to the thirsty as He told the woman of Samaria (John 4:10-14). He still invites the thirsty to come to Him and have the living water. All sinners from all places are invited to come to Jesus so that He will give them salvation and the joy of salvation. Anyone who desires to overcome the power of sin, flesh and the world, must come to Jesus and He will save him and give him peace. If you desire sincerely to be free from every sin in your life or to fill the emptiness which you feel, come to Jesus. Jesus said that blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied or be filled with the righteousness that Jesus gives.

Verse 18 warns us against deliberately distorting the word of God. Some preachers deliberately mix the words and messages of the bible to suit their selfish purposes. Some bend the word of God in order to get rich. Some people preach false doctrines by deliberately misinterpreting the word of God, while some deliberately remove the core meaning and intents of God’s word so as to support them in the wrong they are doing. Serious punishment awaits such people. Check yourself!

PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I am thirsty; please give me salvation and fill me with righteousness and joy of salvation, Amen!
