TOPIC: Account Balance (Scroll down for RCCG House Fellowship 14 December 2025 Anthem)

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to finish the Christian race well in Jesus’ name.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members of last week’s topic on being God’s mouthpiece and the blessings attached to it.

MEMORY VERSE: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” – Galatians 6:7 (KJV)

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 16:1-2 (KJV)

1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Account balance refers to the idea that believers will be held responsible for their actions on earth and will face judgement before Christ. This judgement is not about salvation, but rather about how a believer has used their time, opportunities and abilities.

LESSON AIM: To make members understand that stewards should be found faithful.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;

  • Know that God will require details while on divine assignment.
  • Know that faithfulness is the watchword.

TEXT REVIEW: Luke 16:1-2.

  • In business, there is provision for accountability.
  • A worthy owner of a business will see to his business success.
  • The report of accounts must always be in order.
  • An unprepared, dishonest account will lead to dismal and punishment.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT

There are some things to note about giving an account:

  1. Giving account is personal. No one will provide an account on behalf; the wife cannot account on behalf of her husband, so also husband cannot on behalf of the wife.

Parents cannot account on behalf of their children, and children cannot account on behalf of their parents. We will all render an account individually, Rom 14:12.

  1. We will give account to only one person, and that is Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:10.
  2. We will give an account of the following:
  • Resources committed into our hands
  • The gift God has given us (Inborn and acquired gifts)
  • Time spent for God, for ourselves and for others.
  • Relationship with others.
  1. We give account to receive reward, 2 Corinthians 5:10. Many Crowns are laid up for believers as a reward for all our stewardship here on earth, some are:
  • Crown of Rejoicing (or a soul-winner’s crown) 1Thessalonians 2:19
  • Crown of Life James 1:12
  • Crown of righteousness 2 Timothy 4:6-8

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: A STEWARD MUST BE FOUND FAITHFUL

A faithful steward is someone who manages resources responsibly and faithfully, and has a reputation for truthfulness, integrity and honesty.

Some qualities of a faithful steward includes:

  • Humility, serving begins with humility, be humbled.
  • Compassion. A faithful steward is a caregiver who concerns themselves with the distribution of resources so that all may benefit. James 2:14-17, Rom 12:13
  • Gratitude. A faithful steward recognizes that God owns everything, which leads to gratitude, contentment, patience, diligence and generosity. Psalm 92:1-4
  • Integrity. A faithful steward must be honest and can be trusted to make wise decisions concerning the resources placed in their care. Luke 16:10-13
  • Diligence, Faithful stewards are industrious and avoid being idle. Proverb 22.29, Romans 12:11
  • Prayerful. Good stewards consistently seek guidance and wisdom from God. Jeremiah 29:11-14
  • Action-Oriented. A faithful steward is proactive in their responsibilities.

SUMMARY: In business, there is provision for accountability.

CONCLUSION: We must give an account for no one else, not for our neighbor, sister, brother husband or wife. We must give an account of ourselves. And we do not give an account to anyone other than the Lord Jesus Christ. Every one of our actions and intentions will be accounted for every spiritual gift God gives us and our responsibilities to others will be accounted for.

WEEKLY ACTIVITY: What will be your account balance, and how many are you winning to God’s side per week?

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, teach me how to make good use of the resources you’ve committed into my hands.
  2. Father, cause all the gifts you have given me (Inborn and acquired gifts) to bring glory to You, Lord.
  3. Father, help me to be diligent in the time spent in God’s business, for myself and for others.
  4. Father, cause believers to build strong relationships with You and the body of Christ.
  5. Father, stay away hands of the devil from Daddy and Mummy GO.
