9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
MESSAGE:
When you study the Bible, you will find several examples of how openness can help a fellow to overcome sin. For instance, David committed adultery with Bathsheba and then killed Uriah, her husband. God was angry with him but gave him a chance to repent when he sent Prophet Nathan to rebuke him. When David realised his secret had been found out, he became remorseful and apologised to God. He confessed His sins and forsook them.
I used to be a notorious fellow when I was younger, and I did all manner of things against God’s word. However, when I joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the Lord exposed my sins to me. I apologised and totally surrendered my life to Him. Then, I told my Father in the Lord about my sins, and he took me through the process of discipleship that led to my sanctification and consecration.
My dear child, God is loving, but He can be dangerous to a sinner who refuses to repent. He is calling on you today to open up to Him, confess your sins, and forsake them if you are yet to do so. Make up your mind to stop engaging in worldly pleasures, and He will show you mercy.
ACTION POINT:
Ask God for the grace to overcome sin at all times.
