TOPIC: The Ordained Life For Believers

READ: Ephesians 4:17-22 (KJV)

17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

THE MESSAGE:

The Gentiles have a known way of living. They are confused and have their understanding darkened. Their ignorance has separated them from God, thereby making them give themselves over to all manner of uncleanness. “But ye have not so learned Christ”, Paul warns the church at Ephesus. He further charges them to do away with their old lifestyle of sinfulness.

It is therefore abnormal if having known the truth, we live as though we are still in our unsaved state. If you have really experienced the Christ, and heard His truth, it will be seen in your life; for we know that the ultimate reality is found in Jesus! Examine therefore yourself, if the life of Christ is manifest in you or you are still living in sin. The truth is that we have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer our lives that we live (Rom. 6:6; Gal.2:20). It is in the light of this truth that we are admonished “that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; “(v.22). Take a stand today to live the ordained Christian life and be an example to believers.

Prayer:
Help me, Father, to live like Jesus.
