TOPIC: Rest In The Lord (TREM Devotional 17 March 2026)

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.” – Psalm 37:7 (KJV)

MESSAGE

Beloved, walking in the covenant, overcoming anxiety, and dealing decisive blows to the adversary all require understanding. The Holy Spirit, in this passage, instructs us not to look at the wicked as role models.

Yes, they may seem to be ahead of you. They may appear to be prospering. But what you see is only the surface. You cannot know the reality of their inward state. To desire to be like them is to desire their methods, not their blessings, and the Word warns against that.

Instead, Scripture directs us: “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.” – (Psalm 37:3 KJV).

God alone is the One who can grant the true desires of your heart. Your part is simple: commit your ways unto Him, trust Him, and let Him work. As the Word promises: “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” – (Psalm 37:4 KJV).

Beloved, celebrate who you are in the Lord. Celebrate what He has made you. Celebrate your placement in Him. Make rejoicing in His Word your primary focus, for this is how true rest is found. Be glad in His Word; let it shape your perspective and fill your heart with peace.

Keep your eyes on the right things. You have been raised with Jesus Christ, seated in heavenly places with Him. Your assignment is to focus upward, not downward; heavenly things, not earthly distractions.

As Scripture declares: “If ye then be risen with Christ…Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” – (Colossians 3:1‑2 KJV).

Beloved, true rest comes when your heart is fixed on God and His promises, not on the fleeting success of the world.
