TOPIC: Peace In His Presence

READ: Luke 24:36-43

36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.

38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?

39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.

THE MESSAGE:

When the disciples gathered in fear and confusion after Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus suddenly appeared among them and said, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a ghost, but He reassured them, showing His hands and feet and inviting them to touch Him. To further prove He was real, He even ate in their presence. Jesus’ presence brought them peace and assurance in their time of doubt and fear.

In the same way, Jesus offers us peace in the midst of our uncertainties and fears. We often feel overwhelmed by challenges, wondering where God is or how we will get through. Yet, He is always ready to calm our hearts. Jesus reminds us that He is alive, real, and with us always (Matthew 28:20). In moments of doubt, we can look to the Cross and the resurrection, remembering that He conquered death and offers us His abiding peace. Are you facing anxiety, worry, or fear? Invite Jesus into your situation. Let His presence reassure you that He is greater than any fear or obstacle. He calls us to rest in His peace and to trust in His promises.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, fill my heart with your peace and help me to trust in your presence. Amen.
