BIBLE READING: Jeremiah 17:7-8

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

MESSAGE:

Losing confidence in God’s power can lead to devastating Consequences. When a believer gives up on God, he or she may remain stuck in afflictions or begin to seek help from ungodly sources that only offer temporary relief. This is why it is important to trust God fully in every situation and at all times.

Beloved, when you put your trust in God, you must also do your part in whatever you are trusting God for. For instance, if you are trusting God for a financial breakthrough, you must honour Him with your tithes and offerings (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10).

If it is academic success you are trusting Him for, you must study hard and avoid examination malpractices. Likewise, if you are believing God for peace in your family, you must obey and respect your parents at all times.

My dear child, do not give in to the sinful alternatives that the devil may present to you. Put your trust in God, and He will be your refuge and your ever-present help. He will surely come through for you and provide lasting solutions to any challenges you may face.

PRAYER POINT:
Dear Lord, please help me to continually put my total trust in You, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 15:1-26, Deuteronomy 26-27

HYMN 27 – What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1 What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3 Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there
