TOPIC: Give Attention To The Word (TREM Devotional 30 August 2026)
“Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” – 1 Timothy 4:13 KJV
MESSAGE
The other day, Jonah was in the belly of the fish. But right there in the belly of the fish, he lifted up his voice and began to pray to God. And he said something very key in Jonah 2:8: “They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.” – Jonah 2:8 KJV
When you begin to observe what is happening around you and read everything you want to read about your health challenge, you have forsaken your mercy.
It is particularly important, therefore, that you make up your mind not to focus on the challenges around you. Decide to bury yourself in the infallible, errorless, and impregnable Word of God. Do not allow anyone to pollute your mind.
The book of Proverbs 4:20-22 says: “My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.” – Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV
So, I have chosen to give attention to the Word of God. I will listen to it on tape. I will listen to it in Scriptures. I will also speak it to myself. I will meditate on it. I will put it on my dashboard. I will put it in music form. I want to hear nothing other than the Word, because God upholds all things by the Word of His power. And I encourage you to develop the same attitude towards the Word of God.
God is faithful to His Word. He will not destroy the righteous with the wicked. “That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” – Genesis 18:25 KJV
Beloved, your God will fight for you. He will silence the voice of the enemy. The devil cannot go a step further. God will turn things around for you because His Word never fails.
