MEMORISE: Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. – Proverbs 21:23

BIBLE READING: James 3:5-10

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

MESSAGE:

The tongue is small, but it holds great power. The Bible warns that even though the tongue is small, it can cause a lot of trouble. One of the ways the devil brings people down is by making them expose their strengths or secrets to their enemies. For example, when Delilah kept probing to know the secret of Samson’s strength, he didn’t think that any trouble would arise from telling her. Unknown to him, she was the agent of darkness that was sent to bring him down.

Beloved, you must be careful of the information you share with people, especially your online audience. Some teenagers have no discretion; they carelessly share their privacy online all in the name of content creation.

My dear child, always remain watchful. You must always remember that as a child of God, the devil is constantly seeking ways to attack you, even from the information you share online. Some people have lost great opportunities as a result of the things they posted online in the past. Learn to bridle your tongue and fingers in your interactions with people both physically and online.

KEY POINT:
Be careful of the information you share with people.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 7:1-30, Judges 1-2

HYMN 55 – Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”

2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”

3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”

4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”

5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pra!.”

6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
