TOPIC: Dead Man Walking (Seeds Of Destiny 1 September 2026)
SCRIPTURE: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Any man outside of Christ may be alive physically, but spiritually, he is a dead man walking.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
There is a condition more dangerous than any physical ailment, more devastating than any form of poverty, and more disastrous than any crisis in life — and most people don’t even know they are in it. It is the condition of spiritual death.
Now, let’s go back to the condition of man after the fall at the beginning of creation: even though Adam was still alive physically after the fall, he had already died spiritually. The Life of God in him was gone.
The question then is, how do we recover that Life of God? The basic requirement for the recovery of the Life of God is spiritual rebirth, that is being born again.
John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
It is only a person who is born again that has the Life of God in them. John 10:10 makes it clear: The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.
Furthermore, John 1:12 says, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God. Jesus Christ gave us the power to become carriers of the Life of God.
And John 14:6 settles it — Jesus says, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. The Divine Life comes from Jesus.
When someone is sentenced to death in some parts of the world, the walk he takes from the prison cell to the place of execution is called the walk of death. In the same manner, anyone who is not born again, who is not saved, who doesn’t know Jesus, is taking a walk of death even while physically alive.
He might be a rich man. He might be an educated man, even a professor. He might be a handsome man. And she might be a beautiful woman. But they are all taking steps of death.
And whenever a condemned person is passing from the prison to the execution place, they demand silence as a final respect to his life. Do you know what they say to announce his passing? “Dead man walking.” He has not died yet, but he is surely going to die. In just a few steps, in a matter of minutes, he is gone. He is a dead man who is walking.
A professor who is not born again is a dead professor walking. An entertainer who is not saved is a dead entertainer walking. A billionaire who is not saved is a dead billionaire walking. A churchgoer who is not saved is a dead churchgoer walking.
So, even though Adam was still alive, he was a dead man, a dead man living. The moment he ate the forbidden fruit, he died. Even though his physical life was still there, his spiritual life was gone.
Beloved, it is by being born again that we function in the Life of God. Being born again is what gives us access to the Life of God.
REMEMBER THIS: Every man outside of Christ may be alive physically, but spiritually, he is a dead man walking.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- If you have never been born again, make that decision today — receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and step out of spiritual death into the Life of God.
- Share the message of John 3:16 with at least one person today who may be a dead man walking without knowing it.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for the gift of life through Jesus Christ. I receive Your life into my spirit today. Let me never take for granted the miracle of being born again. Give me a burden for the salvation of those around me who are still walking in spiritual death, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
