BIBLE READING: 2 Timothy 1:6-7 (KJV)
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
MESSAGE:
In 1977, Nigeria hosted the Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC) on a public holiday. I wrote letters to the principals of some secondary schools in the country, requesting that they release their students so we could all fellowship together in prayer, Bible study, and praise to God. We did not have the necessary resources, so l sold my car to raise some money to post the letters I had written, while I kept the remaining to accommodate and feed the students as I had promised. One of my friends also gave his Savings to make the programme a success. To the glory of God, that small event evolved into what is now known as the RCCG Congress, which takes place every December. I was only a young Christian who wanted to do mighty things for God, and thankfully, He supported me.
My dear child, you are not too young to start a revival. You can begin by gathering your friends for prayers and Bible study. In no time, the fire of God will spread around your community. Commit to stepping out and doing something that the host of heaven will recognize today with the gift(s) God has placed in you, and be intentional about it.
KEY POINT:
You are not too young to do extraordinary things for God and His kingdom.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Mark 14:26-50, Deuteronomy 20-22
HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
