TOPIC – A Smooth Stone (Open Heaven for Teens, 16 September 2026)
MEMORISE: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. – Isaiah 28:16

4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
MESSAGE:
Several years ago, I learned that one of my sons in the Lord, who is highly educated, had not given up his cigarette-smoking habit despite being born again. I called him to discuss how God could deliver him Completely from the habit. To my surprise, he said it wasn’t an issue, and that what mattered was that he was born again. He went further to say that the Bible never said, “Thou shalt not smoke.”
After that, I invited him over, and he came visiting with his wife. We decided to study 1 Samuel 17:38-40, where David picked five smooth stones when he went to battle with Goliath. Then, I told him that there are different kinds of stones: the ones that can kill a dog, goat, or any other small creature. However, the stones that can kill a giant must be the very smooth ones. I also let him know that if he wanted God to use him to achieve His divine purpose on earth, he must become a smooth stone. That same day, he stopped smoking forever.
My dear child, if you want to be used mightily by God, you must surrender all to Him and allow Him to chisel you, So that you can be a smooth stone like Jesus Christ.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please make me a smooth stone. Chisel out every impurity from my life, in Jesus name.
