22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

MFM Devotional For Today 2026 MESSAGE:
When Jesus and His disciples were on the sea, and there was a storm, and His disciples shouted, “Master, Master, we are perishing,” I like the way Jesus rebuked them after calming the storm. What an insult! The One who, by the words of His mouth, commanded the same sea and the storm into existence, and can, by the blast of His nostrils, dry up both, was in the boat with them, and they were afraid? In the first instance, as we see in Luke 8:22, He was the One who said they should get into the boat and go over to the other side of the lake.
I have a number of questions for you to answer: Did you seek God’s face before you got into that marriage, or that business deal, or that job, or that ministry, or conceived that child? My friend, it is inevitable that there will be a few setbacks in your life because they are your stepping stones to success. Storms of life are the fire which your Creator uses to fine-tune your life and anchor you to Him, the Eternal Rock of Ages.

What then can the storm be? Is it barrenness in marriage? Is it failure in business? Is it problems in your ministry? Is it infirmity, sickness or disease? Ask Abraham, Elijah, the woman with the issue of blood, Peter, and so on. They had all been through storms, and the only thing that kept them going was their faith and obedience to God.
As in the case of the disciples on the sea, if He has led you into any situation, and a storm arises, He will never leave you nor forsake you. In fact, be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. This is why you must always carry Him along in whatever you do. In fact, NEVER enter a marriage or take any important decision in life without first knowing His will.
Beloved, do a regular audit of your heart and lifestyle to ensure that you are on course. If Jesus is asleep in the boat of your life, He says: “Peace, be still.” Also, ensure that you are always in praise mode. Then rejoice; the Lord is King.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Lay your life at His feet all over again and invite Him to rule over every department.
- Power bringing storms into my life, die by fire, in the Name of Jesus.
- Any storm assigned to stop me, scatter, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
- O Lord my Father, let Your bulldozer of fire, raze every stumbling block in my life to the ground, in Jesus’ Name.
- You storm troubling my marriage, peace, be still, in the Name of Jesus.
- You storm troubling my finances, peace, be still, in the Name of Jesus.
- You storm troubling my career, be still, in the Name of Jesus.
