TOPIC: The Practice Of Love (Seeds Of Destiny 1 October 2026)
SCRIPTURE: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal… Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. 1 Corinthians 13:1–5
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It doesn’t matter what you know; until you know love, you know nothing.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Our anchor Scripture emphasizes the importance of love above all other virtues. It makes four things critically clear:
- Speaking in tongues equals noise without love. Lovelessness drowns the voice of prayer. Hatred or unforgiveness in the heart drowns a person’s voice at the place of prayer. If you do not love your brother, sister, or neighbour, you are wasting your time at the place of prayer.
- Insight from Scripture is a waste without love. Revelation cannot guarantee any meaningful outcome in the absence of love. Where love is absent, revelation means nothing; insight means nothing. That is why there are many people whose heads are filled with Scripture, but their lives are empty of results. It doesn’t matter what you know; until you know love, you know nothing.
- Faith is fake without love, because faith worketh by love (Galatians 5:6). Many people say, “I believe, I have faith,” while there is bitterness in their heart towards someone, and still wonder why they are not seeing results.
- Giving is unprofitable without love. Even giving one’s body to be burned for the sake of the gospel profits nothing without love.
Giving without love equals sowing without reaping; such giving is not permitted to yield the expected harvest. 1 Corinthians 13:3If prayer is useless without love, if revelation is a waste without love, if faith cannot work without love, and if sowing is useless without love, then nothing we do is meaningful and profitable without love.
Now, what is the practicality of love? We shall be looking at a few of them in our study today.
- Love is very patient (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Love is both tolerant and tireless. It has a large capacity to accommodate human error. Living with a spouse requires this kind of patience - Love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Love is liberal; love is not tight-fisted or stingy. A man who is tight-fisted toward his wife, children, and other loved ones is operating outside the vocabulary of love. - Love does not envy (1 Corinthians 13:4).
When you love people, you don’t compete with them; you commend their effort. Love does not struggle to outdo, undo, or diminish others; it struggles only to give honest expression to what God has placed within, not to create impressions.
Beloved, love is life. Walk in love, because love affects life, both in time and in eternity. Love guarantees profitability and productivity for our spirituality. Our prayer life, giving, faith, and insight are all at the mercy of our love walk.
REMEMBER THIS: It doesn’t matter what you know; until you know love, you know nothing.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Practice deliberate kindness today: share something – your time, your resources, or a kind word, with someone.
- The next time someone else’s success or progress stirs envy in you, choose to commend their effort out loudly to them instead of criticising them.
PRAYER: Father, let love be the foundation of everything I do, so that none of my effort is wasted. Teach me to be patient, kind, and give me the grace to make amends where necessary, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
