TOPIC: The Mark Of A Man On Fire (Seeds Of Destiny 8 October 2026)
SCRIPTURE: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. – 1 Kings 18:21
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A man on fire does not operate by consensus; he operates by conviction.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
The Scripture makes it clear that the righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). A man or woman of fire, literally confronts what others avoid. A child of God on fire speaks about what others are silent about. He has the capacity to speak on what others are too careful or afraid to speak about.
Elijah was a classical example of a man on fire. One outstanding characteristic of the man or woman on fire is that he or she is a fearless risk taker.
Proverbs 28:1 aptly captures it: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Elijah once told God that they had slain His prophets with the sword, that he alone was left, and that they sought to take his life. But the Lord said, No, there are seven thousand others who have not bowed their knees to Baal (1 Kings 19:10-18). This means there were other prophets who were Elijah’s contemporaries, but they did not have the audacity to do what Elijah was doing.
So, when you see a man on fire there is one way to know: people are afraid for him, but he is not afraid for himself. There are steps he takes that shake others, yet he remains unshaken.
Now, let us look at other characteristics of a man of fire:
- A man of fire dares what others dread. Every time there is a confrontation with the forces of darkness, the fire of God inside him begins to burn. Every demonic, occultic and witchcraft confrontation only stirs the eruption of the fiery anointing within him.
- A man on fire does not know how to turn away from challenges or battles. Like the lion described in Proverbs 30:30, he does not turn his back on anything.
- He is not interested in pleasing people; he is only interested in pleasing God. He will do what God requires of him, and it does not matter who is displeased, provided God is pleased. For a man on fire, it is better for God to be pleased and everyone else is displeased than for God to be displeased and everyone else is pleased. That is the true mark of a man on fire.
Beloved, the fearless risk taker is always equal to any emergency. He does not need to get ready because he lives ready. Whether the multitude is on the opposite side or not, he remains steadfast because he operates by conviction.
REMEMBER THIS: A man on fire does not operate by consensus; he operates by conviction.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Refuse to live by the opinions of people; choose to live by conviction.
- Spend quality time with God until fresh fire rises in your spirit.
- Determine to please God above every human approval.
PRAYER: Father, baptise me with fresh fire. Deliver me from the fear of people and give me the courage to always stand for You. Help me to live by conviction and not by consensus, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
