TOPIC – God Speaks Back (Open Heaven for Teens, 20 October 2026)
MEMORISE: He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? John 9:27
BIBLE READING: Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
MESSAGE:
Prayer is a two-way conversation with God, yet many Christians focus only on speaking to Him and fail to listen to what He has to say. God speaks to His children in different ways: through His word, the Holy Spirit, godly counsel, and even life’s circumstances. To hear Him clearly, however, every believer must train his or her heart to listen to Him.
In today’s memory verse, Jesus declares that His sheep recognize His voice and follow Him. Just as sheep depend on their shepherd for direction and safety. you must also learn to discern God’s voice amidst the distractions of daily life. In today’s fast-paced world, stillness can be difficult, yet it is often in those quiet moments that God speaks most clearly.
My dear child, don’t allow your communication with God to be one-sided. Instead of rushing through making requests during your prayer time, you should be patient, meditate on Scriptures, and be quiet before God. This will enable God to speak to your heart, granting you peace, wisdom, and direction. Today, take a step beyond making requests in prayer; be still, eliminate distractions, and open your heart to hear God.
REFLECTION:
God is always speaking to His children. Are you listening?

HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
