TOPIC: Godly Altars (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 27 April 2018)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 33:1-20
MEMORY VERSE:
“And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.” – Genesis 35:1
The MESSAGE:
Abraham, the grandfather of Jacob had built an altar earlier on in Bethel. Jacob only followed the example of his grandfather by erecting an altar unto the Lord. He did this as thanksgiving for the numerous mercies he had received since he left Canaan for Padan-aram. He erected this altar also to thank God who was blessed, protected and delivered him from Laban, his uncle and Esau, his brother. In the same vein, he built the altar for religious worship to be continued in his family. He called the altar El-elohe-Israel which means the God of Israel.
Altars are basically a symbol of worship or points of encounter with God. We see this culture displayed very often in the Old Testament. An altar speaks of a point where Divinity meets with humanity. It’s a place where the human heart experiences the Person of God in a most personal way that changes it. No encounter with God either in the place of prayer or any other means leaves the heart the same. There’s a definite change, glowing and refreshing that proceeds from every moment we encounter God.
God truly desires our lives to be altars, where not only ourselves but others can experience God. Just by having a conversation with you, the person experiences God. This is a most beautiful manner of life. It is good to know however that your altar must be continually burning before the Lord for this to be feasible. You mustn’t be a shallow believer. You mustn’t be a lukewarm believer. Your heart must burn for the Lord continually, not just on Sundays but every time.

The spiritual strength of your altar determines the spiritual length you will move to in life.
PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall raise Godly altars in your family that will exalt the name of Jesus Christ.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Holy Spirit of God, sanctify the temple of my life, in Jesus’ name.
2. Anything that defiles, that is presently in the temple of my life, be purged out of my life by fire, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord Jesus, connect me to the socket of Your power, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Holy Spirit of God, package me into Your divine altar, in the name of Jesus.
5. Divine power of resurrection, restore every dry bone within me, in Jesus’ name.
6. O God of Elijah, turn me to a man of the Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
7. Holy Spirit, let me experience sweet fellowship with You, in the name of Jesus.
