TOPIC: Spreading The Glory Of Christ
READ: 2 Corinthians 4:1-7 King James Version (KJV)
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
THE MESSAGE:
In today’s Scripture, we, as believers, are reminded of our goal and need to spread the glory of Christ, to preach the Gospel, to reach out for souls, to show love to straying humanity by reconciling and pointing them back to God. Since the goal of any true believer in Christ is to spread the glory of Christ, to live an exemplary Christ-like life and to shine as light in darkness that men may see and glorify God, we should, by our words and actions, spread the glory of Christ.

When we, like Paul, realise that we have received not only divine mercy and salvation but also knowledge of the glory of Christ, appearing as earthen vessels carrying the light and treasure of His glory, we should spread only the glory of Jesus Christ to people. And when we do not preach ourselves, but Christ, we are spreading the glory of Jesus Christ and the Lord will surely reward us.
PRAYER: Dear LORD, please fill me with fresh passion and fire to preach the Gospel, to shine as light in darkness and share Your love to others, to spread the glory of Christ as I ought to, and reconcile souls to You, in Jesus name, Amen.
