Topic: Spot The Potential [Saturday, 14th Jan. 2017]
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. Acts 18:26
One wonderful attribute a leader must possess is a keen eye to spot the potential in people. This is very important if a leader will make the desired impact in the life of the people he is leading. In Acts 18, Aquila and Priscilla came to Ephesus with Apostle Paul. And in the synagogue they saw a man named Apollos that believed in God, who only knew about the baptism of John, but never heard about Jesus.
As leaders with keen eyes for potentials, Aquila and Priscilla spotted him, took him “and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly” (Acts 18:26). Notice what they did: they did not rebuke him publicly that he doesn’t know about Jesus. But they saw that he was fervent in spirit. They taught him about Jesus, and Apollos went ahead to be a great minister of the gospel of Jesus, who turned many unto righteousness.
As a leader, you must be able to spot potentials in people. Develop a kind of vision that shows people how gifted and blessed they are. And the beautiful part is that, when you help them spot and groom their potentials, you will be proud when you see them prospering. I am sure Aquila and Priscilla would have been so happy seeing Apollos winning souls for the Lord. You also can have that joy of fulfillment when you see the potential that you spot doing great things.
Keep winning daily.
Wise Action
As a leader, make sure you are grooming potentials in people. Ensure that.
