READ: Exodus 33:13-18
- Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
- And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
- And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
- For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
- And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
- And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Revelation 11:1-19, Micah 4-5
MESSAGE:
Divine presence is used to refer to the presence of God. In the Bible, there are instances where the Bible described the Divine presence by associating it with different manifestations. Some of these manifestations appeared as bright light, et cetera. The Bible speaks of the presence in the form of peace and security, victory in battle, unmerited favour, miraculous deliverance, divine help and support. However, the greatest expression of the divine presence of God is found in Jesus. Colossians 2:9 says:
“For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”
In Jesus is the best expression of the Divine presence. Apart from the work of salvation which He came to accomplish, Jesus also came into this world to perfectly demonstrate the nature of God. Therefore, to experience the Divine presence, you need to accept Jesus into your life. His presence in a life grants access to God, gives peace and direction. If you dont have Jesus, you are missing a lot.
KEY POINT:
Only in Jesus is there fullness of joy.
HYMN: In Christ Alone
- In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All - In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid - There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of - No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
