TOPIC: Walking Through The Valley

READ: Psalm 23:1-6 (NKJV)

  1. A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.
  2. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
  3. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
  4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You [are] with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
  5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
  6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

THE MESSAGE:

Somehow life most times leads us through valleys of darkness, filled with challenges, losses and uncertainties. Psalm 23 otherwise known as the “Shepherd Psalm” offers a powerful message of God’s care and presence in the midst of these hardships which can come as lack and poverty. This message is that God is our Shepherd who will provide for us and we will not lack anything. Our Shepherd knows the terrain very well because He has guided countless souls through similar valleys so His knowledge is our source of strength. Our Great Shepherd will seek out “green pastures” and “quiet waters” for us to replenish our spirit and regain our balance.

What are the fears gripping your heart? What are the challenges weighing you down? Don’t pretend they are not there because acknowledgement is the first step towards healing. Remember, the Shepherd doesn’t promise to remove the valley, but to walk with you through it. Amid the darkest valley, you are not alone. God’s presence is a constant source of comfort and strength. The challenges will surely end but there is a future filled with goodness and love, an eternal dwelling place with God. Hold onto this hope as you go through the valley. It will always remind you that your struggles are not the end and that a brighter future awaits.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please help me walk through my challenges and struggles.
