TOPIC: Knowing God As The Ultimate Father

READ: Ephesians 3:14-21 (NKJV)

  1. For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
  2. from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
  3. that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
  4. that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
  5. may be able to comprehend with all the saints what [is] the width and length and depth and height —
  6. to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
  7. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
  8. to Him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

THE MESSAGE:

God is the first and ultimate Father. In fact, fatherhood finds its true source in Him. Every father has the responsibility of providing the needs of his children. We cannot think less of our Father in heaven whose love towards Paul concluded by saying that God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

God knows every of our needs and has enough resources to meet all of them. For instance, the Father knows that we need more than a physical strength to survive in life and He has therefore provided for the extra through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Knowing how loving our Father is, shall we not even now delight ourselves in His love, rooted and grounded in it? Until we relate with God as our Father, we will not be bold to make our requests known to Him and of course, we will find our Christian life full of all sorts of struggles. Ask God to adopt you as a son today.

PRAYER: Help me Lord to know You as my Father who loves me and who is responsible for all my needs.
