THE MESSAGE:
God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. Verse 10 of our text details the killing of the firstborn sons (Exodus 12:29) and this finally forced Pharaoh to release Israel unconditionally. On their way, the mighty Red Sea stood as a great barrier. To add to this, the Egyptian army followed them in hot pursuit, causing panic and fear. When they cried to the Lord, He divided the Red Sea and they passed through on dry ground (Exodus 14:8-10,22). Unfortunately, for the pursuing army, the waters of the Red Sea returned and drowned them all (Exodus 14:26-28). After passing through the Red Sea, the Israelites travelled through the wilderness for 40 years, and were confronted by very powerful enemies whom God enabled them to defeat and capture their lands.
At a time like this, many people have many challenges. Some people look unto man, money, and idols, for solution. However, in most cases, their hopes fail. However, Christians have the strong hand of God is to see them through life’s challenges. Indeed, God will carry you on eagle’s wings and give you final victory, if you put your trust in Him. Do you trust God?
PRAYER: O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come.
