READ: John 3:16-21

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

THE MESSAGE:

John 3:16 is one of most popular verses of the scriptures. It speaks about God, His Gift and our Response. God so loved the world in this way: He gave His only Son, so that whosoever believes in Him will be saved from perishing. Though He did not come to condemn the world, rather to save it, but whosoever believes not in Him stands condemned already. Jesus also told Nicodemus that the light came into the world but men hated the light because their deeds were evil, but those who love the truth come to the light.

If you want to know the manner in which the world (the people in it), is loved and dearly prized by God, then check the worth of what He gave up for her. He gave up His only beloved Son. It is so amazing that it was while we were yet sinners that He commended His love towards us (Romans 5:8). God is inviting you to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, so that you will have eternal life. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour? Please do not allow your love for sin rob you of this gift of eternal life. Believe in the Lord Jesus and your life will be changed (2 Corinthians 5:17)!

PRAYER: Father, I am overwhelmed by Your love. Save me now!
