6:15. and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; - above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
THE MESSAGE:
Today’s text reveals that it is required of a soldier to be both tough-hearted and well-armed. As believers, we struggle with the opposition of the powers of darkness, and many enemies who want to keep us from God.
Therefore, spiritual strength and courage are very necessary for our spiritual warfare (Eph. 6:14-17). Our natural courage is as perfect cowardice, and our natural strength as perfect weakness but all our sufficiency is of God (2Cor. 10:3-5).
In God’s strength, we must go forth and go on. By the acting of faith, we must draw from his grace and seek help from him to enable us to do that which we cannot do with our own strength in our Christian work and warfare. Without the armour of God, we are defenceless against the enemy.
Therefore, we must be saved, truthful, righteous, having faith in God and spreading the gospel of peace in order to have the whole armour of God to stand against the enemy. God equips us with his armour, not only to stand our ground during the fight, but so that we might also have victory in Christ Jesus.
PRAYER:
Today, I receive God’s protection from every attack in Jesus’ name. Amen!
