TOPIC: Drawn By Mercy, Saved By Grace

READ: Ephesians 2:4-10 (NKJV)

  1. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
  2. even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
  3. and raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,
  4. that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
  5. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God,
  6. not of works, lest anyone should boast.
  7. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

THE MESSAGE:

The work of salvation began with God’s loving-kindness towards man. It is because of His love that He sent His Son into the world, not to condemn it but that through Him, the world might be saved. Due to the nature of man which was corrupted when he fell, God went ahead to fulfil the demands of redemption, all by Himself. This leaves us with no room to boast as to any contribution to the work of salvation. It is indeed all by Grace! In order to walk acceptably therefore, we must constantly acknowledge this fact that “By Grace are ye saved through faith…”

We fail and fall whenever we stop looking at the cross – the work of grace. For there, all our struggles finished – struggles with sin, sickness, self and every satanic influence over our lives. Grace obtained all these for us. It is as we come to terms with this truth that we can walk into the actual life God has ordained for us, “Created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” Have you been saved by grace?

PRAYER: Thank You heavenly Father for Your mercies that found me and the work of grace that now saves me through faith. Help me to keep acknowledging this work of grace all my days.
