TOPIC: Lessons From The Life Job (1) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 13 May 2025)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 14:1-52, John 7:31-53, Psalm 109:1-31, Proverbs 15:5-7

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Job 1:1-8 (KJV)

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

MEMORY VERSE: “And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” – Job 1:8(KJV)

MFM Devotional For Today 2025 MESSAGE:

In the next few days, we would be gleaning from the life of the Patriarch, Job. We would be looking at his life, trials, travails, and how he overcame them.

According to records, Job was a perfect and upright man that feared God and hated evil with passion. He lived so uprightly that God began to boast about his life. His life brought glory to God. His life made heaven proud. His life produced a sweet savour for God to smell. He was so devoted that God asked if Satan had considered how upright and clean Job was. God was simply proud of Job. Even the devil attested to the fact that Job was upright. I pray again, may heaven be proud of you in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, how much can God be proud of you? Can God even boast of you at all with the way you are living? Can it be said of you and I that our lives are bringing honour to God? Let’s examine ourselves. Job was not a superhuman. He was human just like us. He also lived in a corrupt world but he chose to be different. He chose to please and honour God with his lifestyle. We do not have any excuse not to live righteously even in a corrupt world. Job had done it before; we too can do it. We can choose not to bring grief to the heart of God. The grace that was available to Job to live a life of honour is still available today. May God find true sons and daughters in us in the name of Jesus. May we not disappoint God with our lives, in Jesus’ name.
