FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 5:1-9 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

MFM Devotional For Today 2026 MESSAGE:
Medicine is used by people who are not feeling well. There are various types of medications used for various forms of illnesses just like there are varying dosages for different levels of sickness. Also, there are medications that are used to maintain good health. That is, the users may not be sick but they use these medications in a preventive way. The word of God functions like medicine. It can be used for both preventive and curative purposes.

The word of God functions the way God Himself functions. When God sends His word, it doesn’t return without fulfilling its purpose. God can send His word to heal your body, soul and spirit. What’s more? The word of God never fails or misses its target.
In today’s Fire Scripture, Jesus only spoke the word to heal the man who had had that infirmity for thirty-eight years. The man had been sitting there, looking for someone to carry him into the water after the angel’s visitation, but there was no one. Then, Jesus came and healed him with His word. It was amazing.
Jesus still heals with the word of His mouth today. Somebody might ask, “Where do I see Jesus so that He can speak to me?” You can see Jesus in His word. It is true that Jesus no longer walks the earth as a man but His word is still on earth with us and it is extremely powerful. If you or people you know are sick, you have to strengthen your faith and apply God’s word as medicine.
As much as I do not want to discredit medical science, I want you to know that Jesus is the ultimate Healer; He is called the Great Physician. Even medical practitioners usually say, “We care, God heals.” As much as God can work through medical science, He can also work without medical science. God wants us to grow our faith beyond reliance on man and dependence on physical drugs. I want you to ponder on this: if God created the whole world with the word of His mouth, why can’t He heal us with the word of His mouth?
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Thank You, Lord Jesus, because You are my healer, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, speak Your word to chase away every infirmity from my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, let Your word heal me, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- O Great Physician, visit me today, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, increase and strengthen my faith in Your word, in the name of Jesus.
- I refuse to doubt the word of God, in the name of Jesus.
- The word of God will prevail over every sickness in my life, in the name of Jesus.
