BIBLE READING: Isaiah 60:1-2
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
MESSAGE:
The world is filled with so much darkness because many people engage in sinful acts and social vices. However, in today’s Bible reading, God’s children have been commanded to arise. This is because God has made up His mind to lighten the world through us.
Do not be tempted to dim your light or just shine in your church; you must shine everywhere you go as an obedient child of God. If you have a friend who does not know Jesus, the best way to shine as a light around him or her is to exhibit the attributes of Christ. For instance, if you are heading somewhere and suddenly see your neighbour lying critically ill in front of his or her apartment, as Christ’s ambassador, you can go ahead in faith to lay your hand on your neighbour and command every attack to vanish in Jesus’ name. Then, you can call for support from the elderly people around to take him or her to the hospital. I can assure you that through your act of faith of praying for the sick, Christ’s light in you will shine on more than one soul that day.
My dear child, don’t just call yourself a Christian; shine the light of Christ everywhere you go.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to shine Your light always.

HYMN 30 – When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
